Amazing Action in Paris !

On the sunday 10th, two french SFT members hanged on a footbridge in Paris, just near of the Eiffel Tower. They hanged a big banner of ten M long, "Tibet Libre, free Tibet" for 45 minutes before the police ask them to leave. Other SFTers handle the banner "One World, One Dream, Free Tibet" and tibetan flags. Air China la 4eme action!!!

Quatorze personnes qui manifestaient mercredi en fin d'après-midi devant les locaux de la compagnie Air China à Paris (VIIIe) ont été conduites au commissariat pour vérification d'identité puis relâchées, a-t-on appris de source policière.

Une vingtaine de manifestants du collectif Ré-actions citoyenne se sont réunis vers 16H30 devant l'agence de la compagnie Air China, boulevard Malesherbes (VIIIe), l'un des sponsors des Jeux olympiques qui s'ouvrent le 8 août à Pékin, tentant d'occuper les locaux, mais avaient été délogés par la police avant de pouvoir passer à l'acte, a constaté un photographe de l'AFP.

Ils avaient alors déployé à l'extérieur des drapeaux tibétains, des banderoles et des affichettes sur lesquelles on pouvait notamment lire "Air China sponsor officiel des Jeux olympiques de la honte".

Ils refusent, selon les termes de leur communiqué parvenu à l'AFP, "l'association des idéaux olympiques à ces jeux 2008 de la honte". Le collectif condamne "les gouvernements pleutres et complices qui privilégient les rapports commerciaux et financiers au détriment de la liberté et de la justice". 

Enfin il demande "aux gouvernements et sportifs" de les rejoindre "et de montrer au gouvernement chinois force et détermination pour faire appliquer les idéaux olympiques"

Le magasin Adidas aux Champs Elysés à Paris à eu la visite du groupe de militants.

Rappel de l'action

TRACTAGE, OCCUPATION DES LIEUX AVEC BANDEROLES ET PANCARTES, SIMULACRES D'EXECUTIONS DE MOINES ET OPPOSANTS AU REGIME, LE SANG (fait de gouache a l'eau bien sur) COULERA SUR LE SOL DE L'EQUIPEMENTIER POUR LUI RAPPELLER QUE LA REALITE N'EST PAS QU'ECONOMIQUE ET QUE DES MILLIERS DE GENS MEURENT AVEC LEUR COMPLICITE.

Le groupe des citoyens en colère, rappellera au personnel de la boutique et aux passants des champs élysées le rôle de fossoyeur des droits de l'homme que joue le ADIDAS et sa marque en participant aux J.O :

- Rappeler les profits honteux qu'ADIDAS fait sur la souffrance humaine
- Rappeler les horreurs de l'occupation du Tibet par la Chine,
- Rappeler le sort funeste de tous les opposants exécutés ou emprisonnés.
- Rappeller enfin que le silence rend complice et que c'est notre devoir de citoyen d'agir pour ceux qui ne le peuvent pas

Résultat: Adidas a du fermer ces portes à 20h30 notre passage a dérangé!

17 Juillet 2008 : des militants pro-tibétains

Adidas sponsorise les Jeux de la honte

Une vingtaine de militants ont occupé le magasin ADIDAS en fin d'après-midi, accrochant des banderoles aux étages, le long du bâtiment, ainsi que dans les vitrines et à l'intérieur du magasin. La police et les pompiers sont intervenus mais n'ont pas délogé les manifestants accrochés au fenêtres, pour ne pas causer d'accidents. Le magasin a fait sortir les clients et fermé ses portes avant l'heure. Après négociation, les manifestants ont pu repartir sans être interpellés.

Alors que les Jeux olympiques de Pékin se rapprochent, Adidas vient d'inaugurer dans la capitale chinoise sa plus grande boutique au monde.
La marque, sponsor officiel des J.O, considère le marché chinois comme "l'un des plus importants au monde" et vise à s'assurer "un leadership sur le marché chinois".
Pendant que Adidas collabore avec la dictature de Pékin, le Tibet est toujours sous une chape de plomb depuis mars, après que des manifestations aient entraîné un soulèvement de tout le Tibet contre l'occupation chinoise. Les autorités ont répondu par une répression sans merci lors de laquelle au moins 200 Tibétains ont été tués et plus de 5700 ont été arrêtés ou ont disparu.
La situation au Tibet reste très sérieuse, les autorités chinoises multipliant les rafles, les emprisonnements arbitraires et les séances de "rééducation patriotique". Des milliers de personnes ont disparu ou ont été emprisonnées. Des blindés occupent les rues et les autorités arrêtent immédiatement ceux qui osent encore protester.
Bien évidemment, le gouvernement chinois refuse toujours l'ouverture de réelles négociations sur le statut du Tibet.
A Pékin, à l'approche des Jeux, la situation est de plus en plus tendue et les mesures de sécurité se multiplient. Sans ouverture politique, il est à craindre que ces jeux olympiques, à l'image du parcours de la flamme dans le monde, ne s'avèrent un véritable fiasco.

Nous demandons à ADIDAS, sponsor officiel de Pékin 2008 :

de cesser son partenariat avec la Chine tant qu’elle ne respecte pas les droits de l'homme, indissociables des valeurs olympiques
d'exiger la libération immédiate des milliers de Tibétains emprisonnés depuis le 10 mars
d'exiger l'ouverture de réelles négociations entre le gouvernement de la République populaire de Chine et le gouvernement tibétain en exil

The passage of the Olympic flame in

Paris

provoked a lot of questions and stirred the commitment of the French for Tibetan cause.

Numerous journalists have recall movements unprompted, it is sure that some persons spontaneously went along the course of the flame with a Tibetan flag to be seen, but it is necessary to know that most part of the demonstrator were aware there of what would take place.

Several Tibetan or activists in favour of Tibetan cause came by coaches from

Belgium

Switzerland

to support us in the demonstration of our opposition to the passage of the Olympic Torch in the

and showed a streamer in which they could read “no Olympic flame in the

Tibet Activists Demonstrate at Base Camp While Chinese Team Attempts Olympic Torch Ascent

Four Tibetan independence activists, including one Tibetan-American, remain in detention today after demonstrating at Mount Everest’s main base camp in Tibet on Wednesday, unfurling a banner reading “One World, One Dream, Free Tibet 2008” in English, and “Free Tibet” in Tibetan and Chinese. China would you shoot us too ? Activists detained by the police !

We arrived at the Embassy at 3pm with our "China would you shoot us too banner and Tibetan flags. After 20 minutes of demonstrating, between 10 and 15 police showed up in 3 police vans, detained the small group of us (we were outnumbered by the police) and took us to the police station for questioning. We were held for 3 hours and then released. Apparently the Embassy had directly phoned the French Minister of Foreign Affairs about our protest, so I think our actions were very effective!

Thanks to SFT's action camps, we were aware of how to respond to the police and remain calm during the whole ordeal. This action has strengthened our resolve that Tibet will one day soon be Free! - Alexis, SFT France More information : http://ChinaWouldYouShootMe.org

Tibetans and mountaineers describe shooting at Nangpa Pass

Radio Free Asia posted statements today from Tibetans and climbers who witnessed the deadly shooting at Nangpa Pass. The eyewitness accounts add to the mounting evidence that completely contradict the Chinese government’s outrageous claims.

Here’s an excerpt from one interview:

“There was no one who fought with the Chinese soldiers. I saw everything and in fact I am only Tibetan who saw everything. I threw my bag on the side of road and entered in the camp of the Western climbers,” said one man, who said he had hidden in a toilet at a mountain-climbing camp.

“I concealed my other stuff behind the tent and put on a cap and stood in the midst of the Western climbers. I saw Chinese [troops] shooting at the Tibetans. All were running as fast as they could in the snow and no body tried to fight back.”

Those interviewed at the Tibetan Reception Centre in Kathmandu also describe the emotional shock and trauma of the fleeing Tibetans. Clearly, these were not people capable of confronting armed Chinese guards. Rather they were ambushed in a manner that is incomprehensible, deplorable and once again indicative of the Chinese government’s complete disregard for Tibetan lives.

“It was so tense and confusing that I just thought of staying alive and escaping. I couldn’t think of anything else or help the others.”

“I think the Chinese fired for about 15 minutes. I felt bullets whizzing past my ears. In fact I felt about five bullets pass by me and luckily they missed me. I was so frightened that I crawled in the snow using my hands and feet. The snow was about knee-deep,” he said.

Judging from this irrefutable evidence of Chinese abuse of escapees, we have both the need and the opportunity to truly shame the Chinese government in front of the whole world.

SFT-France Free Tibet Action Week end

Hey ! This is some pictures about the second Action week end we organized in September : French SFTers who went to the international Action camp this summer in Germany have teached what they learned to the other members. It was a great time. Workshops and moke actions were concentrated on the Olympics campaign. Members have been very exited and motivated. It was also a place to organize SFT-France structure and to vote for the new board.
